Methodology corrections

Spotted a bug in a calculation, or think one of our assumptions is off? We genuinely want to know - calculator accuracy is the entire point. hello@energycosting.co.uk

For each calculator, the full methodology is published with formulas and source citations. Take a look there first - if you can point to the specific assumption you disagree with, we can have a useful conversation about it.

What we don't do

• Provide installer recommendations or quotes. We deliberately don't maintain a partner list, because the moment we did, our independence would be compromised. We're happy to explain how to find an MCS-certified installer, but we won't pick one for you.
• Give personal financial advice. The calculators show what the maths looks like for the inputs you provide. Whether to actually proceed depends on your specific situation - get a real quote, ideally talk to your existing energy supplier, and consider an independent energy advisor for big decisions.
• Offer support for installation, repair, or supplier issues. We're a calculator site, not an installer or supplier. For supplier complaints, contact your supplier first, then escalate to the Energy Ombudsman.
